2025 El Reno Main Street Board of Directors Expectations & Commitment Form

The board of directors of The El Reno Main Street Program, Inc. is legally and ethically responsible for all activities of the program.

I understand my responsibilities as a Board Member are to:

• Advocate for the organization, educate the community, promote our mission

• Attend at least 75% of scheduled Board Meetings (3rd Thursdays/subject to change)

• Determine how the organization carries out its mission through long- and short-range planning

• Adopt an annual budget and provide fiscal oversight

• Hire and evaluate the performance of the executive/program director

• Establish policies for the effective management of the organization

• Approve work plans annually

• Attend local El Reno networking events

• Nominate potential new Board Members

Annual Fundraising Responsibilities:

  • Become a Friend of Main Street ($100 per year)

  • Recruit New Partner Sponsors with an annual goal of $1000

(per board member)

Annual Volunteer Responsibilities:

• Be a working member of at least one Committee:

- Economic Vitality: Business Recruitment & Retention

- Design: Landscaping, Architecture, Walkability, Ordinances

- Promotion: Special events (traffic building) and promotions

- Organization: Fundraising, Membership, & Policies

• Be a volunteer at Burger Day

• Volunteer at downtown events hosted by the El Reno Main Street
